Labor Day Weekend in Houston

I guess you can say my Labor Day weekend started Thursday night as Cristal. April & I made our way downtown to check out the DNC; amazing! Besides the drunk chick shouting "YES" every 2 seconds during Obama's speak, the night was GREAT!

So Friday night I was on Enigmatik's site and I peeped that Chamillionaire was having a meet & greet at Music Depot in Greens Point Mall (Shouts out to Big O!!) - sooo being the extra Cham lover that I am, I made sure I was there!!

Sunday rolls around and we roll to Family Fun Day w/ Radio One stations. Artists such as Eric Benet, Jazmine Sullivan, Hot Styles and Three 6 Mafia all performed - I must say I was rather disappointed in the crowd for not getting crunk for Three 6 (I love you Juicy J!!). The day was filled with babies getting lost & people passing out - yea, it was HOT! Hell, even Eric Benet was on stage calling for the Red Cross to assist someone in the crowd - it was CRAZY!

Kingwood Summer Jam in Houston

I must say it is GOOD to see the local rappers doing so much for the Community. They took care of em when school ended and now they are starting em off right! BUT uhhh, I'm going to need Chamillionaire on this roster, LOL (if you haven't heard Cham's recent freestyles - you're SLIPPINNNN)

Houston heavyweights Mike Jones, Slim Thug and Lil’ Flip are among the artists slated to grace the stage at the first ever Kingwood Summer Jam in Texas, in an effort to help raise money for local high schools in the area .

The lone star state rappers, who will also be joined by Trae The Truth, Big Tuck, Big Pokey, Lil’ Will, Kioitti of PARTY 93.3, Fat Pimp aka Mr Rack Daddy himself =) and OG Ron C, will hit the stage in hopes to establish a scholarship for Kingwood and Kingwood Park High Schools. Money generated from the concert will also be donated in the memory of two neighborhood students fatally injured in a car accident.

Pirate’s Cove Car Wash is sponsoring the event which will be held at Town Center from 12-7 p.m on August 16th.
