Today I was feeling the sting of my boss telling me she wants to shut down in TWO weeks! Some of you may know how my Boss is, LOVELY lady! She's VERY inspirational and I love her to death. She has two younger children so her Mommy time w/ them will be great. We'll still be around but not like before, even though its been not like before for a minute now, LOL...
So yea, I have options I can reach out to but I'm HORRIBLE at asking for a "helping" hand, even though no one is doing anything for me really beyond saying yes or no - but still! So as I was saying - I had a moment and was on my Facebook page lookin at comments from Ainz and a quote I have on there stood out! It's from one of my favorite men in life, yea, Aaron Arnold! YES! HIM AGAIN, LOL!
"Only way to do something ground breaking is to create your own platform" - Aaron Arnold, www.MusicIsMyBusiness.net.
Instead of me feeling sorry for myself and what has been handed to me, I'm going to do something about it and excel to my highest ability.
Hope this motivates you as it has me today! Thanx Double A! And thanks for CARING! watch video @ 1:08 mark for quote =)
I'm starting to think I'm obsessed w/ this man! Ha! I kid, I joke! He is a good friend and I support great friends! Not to mention my growing friendship with him allowed me to network w/ friends of his and join 21stcenturyhustle.com, which allowed me to meet such amazing friends as Ainz Neal and Andrew Clifton Thomas and a host of other talented people!
I would like to nominate Aaron Arnold, CEO of Music Is My Business (www.musicismybusiness.net). Music Is My Business works with the UN's World Food Program to create a worldwide awareness campaign about global warming and end world hunger.
Mr. Arnold recently appeared on CNN for a live interview as they recognized him for being a “Young Person Who Rocks” which honors people under 30 who are impacting and inspiring the world.
Mr. Arnold is a former assistant to Sean "Diddy" Combs' executive. Prior to working at Bad Boy Records, Aaron was an Executive at Hill & Knowlton in New York. Upon a decision to pursue his passion for music, Aaron left the corporate world for a six- month internship at Bad Boy Records. Within six months, Aaron became a member of Sean "Diddy" Combs'. After a year’s time, Aaron moved forward to launch his own music company with the goal to change the way business is done in the music industry.
As the world's climate changes at an alarming rate the world's poor and hungry are most at risk. The World Food Program is already reaching some 90 million hungry people in 80 countries every year and is helping countries to deal with the effects of climate change. In order to raise awareness about the enormous challenge, they brought together a creative team to help spread the message about global hunger.
In July 2007, Grammy Award Winning producer, Bryan Cox, Music Is My Business (MIMB) CEO, Aaron Arnold and NFL Star Dhani Jones teamed up to help the World Food Program (WFP) to produce a powerful PSA. We are very grateful for the collaboration with Dhani Jones, Bryan Cox and Music Is My Business on this project. It is an example of the kind of broad alliances that are necessary to help those most in need - the millions of hungry people on the front line of climate change who are already suffering from the effects of drought, floods and natural disasters." said WFP spokeswoman Bettina Luescher. "Athletes, artists, and aid workers are joining forces so the world realizes everyone has to do much more."
"Music taps into the fabric of humanity, professionally, socially, politically...so it was important that the right music element and talent (Bryan Cox) be integrated into this initiative," said Aaron Arnold CEO, Music Is My Business. "It's a good feeling when we can use music to educate and raise awareness about global issues to which we are all sometimes ignorant."
This year, Music Is My Business will produce and provide the musical score for the animated campaign. The PSA will be translated into 80 languages.
Music Is My Business works with UN's World Food Program to create awareness about global warming and end world hunger.
The MAN pictured above is someone I have written about before (Previous, Aaron Arnold post), he is someone I HIGHLY respect and damn near Idolize, lol! Before he blows up (even more) and chicks do a Mike Jones on him, let me be the first to say, "Aaron is MY Husband" *snaps fingers* LOL! He is my Morris Chestnut, my Michael Ealy, My Denzel; beautiful creature and a delight to follow!
Anywayyyyy (let me stop drooling, lol), as a previous assistant of Mr. Diddy, Aaron will be on VH1 this Sunday on a special that features some of Diddy's past Assistants. This is a special that comes on before the preimere of Diddy's upcoming VH1 show, "I Want to Work for Diddy". *sidenote* as someone who had thoughts of applying for the position when I 1st heard about it, after watching the previews, I must say I'm glad I didn't - LOL. Aaron Arnold - someone I have befriended off the strength of his company, Music Is My Business. I kept seeing him on the net so one day I decided to research him - as a young African American person who really never looked up to someone before, he caught my attention and has been something like a role model to me. I sent him a message expressing such and really wanted to know how to be apart of his movement - we have been cool since. I have yet to be involved but just keeping up with his routine and knowing his hustle and strive has been motivating to me. He's an amazing man, who indeed ROCKS!
Recently, he was interviewed with CNN for a section called Young People Who Rock. Young People Who Rock is a weekly interview series focused on people under 30 -- from CEOs to entertainers to athletes to community and political leaders -- who are doing remarkable things. Here is a lil info about him and why he rocks so much:
No matter how old we are, no matter what stage we’re at in life, we all tend to wonder, “If money didn’t matter, what would I do?” Aaron Arnold had those thoughts. And he’s acted on them.
After Arnold graduated from college, he was fast-tracked into an executive position at a major PR firm. He had money, but he was miserable. The real answer to his nagging thoughts about his true passion was music. So shortly after he got married, Arnold took a major leap to a nonpaying (to the dismay of his wife) internship with Bad Boy Records.
He worked for free to soak up all he could as an assistant to record producer and entrepreneur Sean “Diddy” Combs. After a year of grooming, the 29-year-old went on his own to start Music is My Business. “I wanted to change the music industry for the better,” Arnold said. He now handles budding artists, with the goal of changing the way business is done in the music industry. http://ypwr.blogs.cnn.com/2008/06/17/aaron-arnold/.
Here is a clip of his interview - I missed it when it aired online but at work ALL we do is watch CNN, so 10 minutes later I was excited to see him on TV!! :)
